The US-based company Waymo has declared that its driverless taxis will be operational for hire on London's thoroughfares beginning next year.

London will become the first European city to launch an autonomous taxi service, similar to those currently in use in multiple US cities and several American locations employing Waymo's innovative platform.

Waymo stated that its vehicles are now heading to London and will start driving on the city's public roads in the coming weeks with experienced operators behind the wheel.
